Aurora Central Catholic eLearning Guidance for Students & ParentsWhen the entire ACC community is eLearning here are the guidelines: How does it work?• Assignments will be posted by each teacher in Teams (Office 365) by the start of each block that day. • Students must log into Teams (Office 365) at the time of each block to view and begin work on assignments for the day. This will include the teacher either conferencing with the students, posting videos, or assigning the work for the day. Attendance will be taken during each block. Student attendance is mandatory daily! • Students should spend about 5 hours on eLearning each day. This means about 1-1.5 hours should be dedicated to each class every eLearning day. **As before and after school classes do not meet daily, the teachers of these courses will be in contact with students about their unique eLearning requirements. • Deadlines for assignments will be determined by teachers and communicated with students. Things that are done "in class" may be due by the end of that scheduled block. Other assignments will be due by the start of that block the following day or when scheduled by the teacher. • Faculty members will be working throughout the day with dedicated time within each block to be online to answer student questions about assignments. In special cases, teachers might establish a different timeframe to be available, and this will be communicated to the individual classes by the instructor. • All emails from students received by 3 p.m. will be responded to that day by teachers. • All questions related to the student's course information should be directed to the student's teacher for the given course. • Please contact our Dean of Instruction Leah Bohr at [email protected] if you have additional questions. Office 365 and Teams:• All ACC students have an Office 365 account provided by the school. Office 365 is cloud-based and includes Microsoft applications like Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Teams is one of the included Microsoft applications and a wonderful option for facilitating eLearning. Students can access Teams from any device including smartphones. Internet Access:• If your home experiences an internet outage, and your student is unable to go to another location to complete their assignments, please contact our Dean of Instruction, Leah Bohr at [email protected] and she will communicate with the teachers. Please email when the service is restored. |
