BAND
ACC offers three bands that students can participate in all four years of high school. Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Mass Band. The symphonic band plays and performs literature ranging from Classical to Popular music and meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and some Fridays before school. There is a sectional rehearsal that meets on the other Friday mornings, and it alternates between sections of the band. Jazz Band learns and performs Jazz hits as well as modern music. Jazz Band meets Tuesdays and Thursdays before school. The Mass Band is a small group that accompanies the choir during Mass. There is one concert each semester where every ensemble performs.
CHOIR
ACC offers two choir options. Music is a class that meets during the school day. Through singing, ukulele, and hand-bells students learn musicianship and basic music theory ideas. The goal of this class is to prepare students to be even more successful in Band and Advanced Choir where having a solid music theory base will help the students sight-read and learn music quicker. Music class will then perform in a concert every semester with the other ensembles. Advanced choir can be taken in all four years of high school, but it is highly recommended that students start with Music. In Advanced Choir, students will learn and perform classical and modern music. Advanced choir meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
